Psalms 68:5

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”

God is portrayed as a protector and caretaker of those who lack earthly support.

 

Psalms 82:3

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”

God commands justice for the vulnerable and marginalized in society.

 

Isaiah 1:17

 “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”

 A call to pursue justice and actively support those who are disadvantaged.

 God cares for the marginalized and opposes those who do wrong.

“Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”

True fasting and worship involve actively helping those in need.

 

Exodus 22:22
