Mama Helen Teni Children Foundation is an orphanage in Wiaga, Sandema, northern Ghana. We provide a safe haven for children aged 3 to 15 who have lost their parents or been abandoned. Our goal is to enhance their lives with love, education, healthcare, and emotional support.
We offer shelter, nutritious meals, quality education, and healthcare. We also provide emotional support and counseling to help children cope with their loss. Our nurturing environment fosters personal growth, helping children feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Child Sponsorship
1. Creating Serenity for Orphans: We aim to provide a nurturing and peaceful environment for the orphans under our care. By fostering an atmosphere of love and support, we hope to help them thrive and find solace.
2. Empowering Widows: We recognise the strength and resilience of widows. Our goal is to equip them with the necessary skills and resources to achieve financial independence. Through vocational training and support, we empower them to build sustainable livelihoods.
3. Child Sponsorship Advocacy: Each child deserves a chance at a brighter future. We are committed to seeking sponsorships for every child’s well-being, education, and development. By connecting caring individuals with these children, we can make a lasting impact.
4. Community Involvement: We believe in collective responsibility. Our efforts extend beyond the walls of our orphanage. We collaborate with the community to care for orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable babies and young children. Together, we can create a safety net of compassion and support.
5. Local Sustainability: We harness local resources to promote self-reliance. From energy-efficient practices to sustainable food production, we strive to minimise our environmental impact and contribute positively to our community.
The “Mama Helen Teni Children Foundation” provides care and support to children of all ages who have faced the loss of their parents due to various circumstances. Whether it’s diseases like malaria, the dangers of local alcohol brews in Ghana, HIV/AIDS, accidents, or simply children left with nowhere else to turn, our organisation steps in to make a difference. In a loving and supportive environment, we offer the following to these vulnerable children in the Upper Region/Upper East of Ghana:
1. Food, Shelter, and Clothing: We believe that every child deserves nourishment, a safe place to call home, and adequate clothing. Our foundation ensures that these basic needs are met.
2. Education: Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. We provide access to quality education, empowering these children with knowledge and skills for a brighter future.

2. Material Support for Orphans and Widows: Our mission is not only about emotional support but also practical assistance. We provide material resources, including food, clothing, and educational opportunities, to those entrusted to our care.
3. Loving Our Neighbour: Inspired by the biblical principle from James 1:27, we embrace our responsibility to look after orphans and widows during their times of distress. Our actions reflect our commitment to love our neighbours as ourselves.
I am Helen Musah, born in Ghana, where I spent my formative years and received most of my education. Afterward, I relocated to the UK and later lived in France for a few years. Currently, I am based in the United Kingdom. Married and blessed with four children, I work as a fashion designer by profession. My journey has been shaped by diverse experiences and a passion for creativity. SPONSOR OUR WORK TODAY: Our children’s home is situated in an area where economic conditions are very challenging. Mama Helen Teni Children’s Foundation (MHTCF) is a nonprofit organization that is well known as a haven of hope, compassion, and restoration. Since 2018, we have worked to ensure every child gets equal rights. We believe every child deserves a good education, healthy food, proper clothing, love, and a sense of belonging. We currently have 33 children in our care and are open to bringing in more children, their ages are between 3 and 15 years

Donate For Bus
We are reaching out to seek your generous support in purchasing a 2014 used Sprinter bus, which costs 423,000 cedis (£20,000). This bus will be a vital means of transportation for the children in our care, allowing them to attend church, go on excursions, and participate in other essential activities.
